Assign Bank Connect User Permission Sets
Role Required: Business Central Admin
Bank Connect installs with two user permission sets. Business Central administrators will need to assign Bank Connect permission sets to accounting & finance team users. Two roles have been installed with Bank Connect:
| Bank Connect Administrator | Access to all Bank Connect functionality, including Activation, Payments, Information Reporting, and Audit. (Company's entitlement dictates each user's specific payment capabilities.) |
| Bank Connect Accountant | Access to Banking functionality, including Payments and Information Reporting. (Company's entitlement dictates each user's specific payment capabilities.) |
Go to the Users page and edit the user(s) needing a Bank Connect permssion set.
-
Under User Permission Sets, select a new row in the Permission Set column and type KXA Admin Permission or KXA Accountant Perm.
- Use the Permission Set Lookup table to select the Bank Connect permission.
NOTE: Users must be given the permission set for each company where accounts are linked for Bank Connect services.
Role Required: Bank Connect Administrator
Your Bank Connect Administrator may be someone different from your primary Business Central Administrator(s). Often Bank Connect Administrators are the primary relationship holder with the bank — a controller or senior finance executive — however, the Admin can be set up without payment approval access if your company prefers to assign a security or integration admin.
Activate Company
After installing Bank Connect, you'll need to activate your company.
Use the 🔎 search icon at the top of the workspace in Business Central and search for Bank Connect Setup.
On the Bank Connect Setup page, enter the Activation Key you received via email, and click on the Submit to Activate button.
Sign in with your Bank Connect Administrator credentials to authorize the connection to your bank.
Once signed in and connected to your bank, you will see Account Services & Entitlements.

- A single Business Central user can only be linked to one bank user.
- You may choose to leave users unlinked — these users will not be able to use the approvals dashboard
- "Disabled" users will not appear in the user linking section.
Link Bank Accounts
In the Account Linking section, you will see the list of enrolled bank accounts for your company.
-
From the Ledger Account dropdown, select the corresponding Business Central bank account to link it with the enrolled bank account.

- "Blocked" accounts will not appear in the account linking dropdown.
Click Save User & Account Links button to save the changes.
