Assign User Roles

gear-solid.svg Role Required: NetSuite Administrator

Bank Connect installs with two roles encompassing Bank Connect permissions. You'll need to assign Bank Connect roles to accounting & finance users. Two roles have been installed with the Bank Connect bundle:

Bank Connect Administrator Access to all Bank Connect functionality including Activation, Payments, Information Reporting, and Audit. (Company entitlement dictate each user's specific payments capabilities.)
Bank Connect A/P Clerk Access to Banking functionality including Payments and Information Reporting. (Company entitlement dictate each user's specific payments capabilities.)

You may either assign these roles directly to users in your tenant (steps below), or you may assign the permissions directly. While many users will see the Bank Connect tab immediately, others may need to toggle their role in the top-left corner or log out and then log back in for the tab to become visible.

  1. Navigate to Lists → Employees from the main navigation bar. You can then either search or select the Employee from the list.
You may also use the search bar to lookup the employee by name.

  2. Click Edit on the Employee's record.

  3. Scroll down to the Access tab and find Roles, you will see a list of all roles assigned to this user. Select Bank Connect A/P Clerk or Bank Connect Administrator, then Save.

Access to bank statement data is managed by NetSuite-delivered roles such as Accountant, A/R Clerk, and others. These can be used for users who do not need to send payments with Bank Connect.
