Understanding Statement Import Dates

Bank Connect automatically determines statement import date ranges based on account-specific settings in NetSuite. The initial import date is selected during account linking, while subsequent automated and manual imports use the latest imported transaction date and configured lookback period.

View Statement Import Settings

Statement import settings can be viewed on the Bank Connect Account Details record in NetSuite.

  1. Navigate to Bank Connect Setup → Bank Connect Account Details in NetSuite.

  2. Select View for the bank account you want to review.

  3. Locate the following fields that provide visibility into the account’s statement import settings:

Field Description
Latest Trxn Date The latest transaction date recorded from imported bank statements.
Import Lookback The number of days Bank Connect looks back from the latest transaction date when requesting statement data.
Import From The start date used for the next statement import when a historical import date has been set. When populated, this date takes precedence over the standard lookback calculation.

How Statement Import Dates Are Determined

Initial Statement Import

When bank accounts are linked during Bank Connect activation, an initial statement import is triggered for newly linked accounts using the selected historical import date. Previously linked accounts are also included in the import using their existing statement import settings.

If the imported statements contain transactions, the Latest Trxn Date field is updated on the Bank Connect Account Details record.

Note: NetSuite limits statement imports to once every 60 minutes. If a manual or automated import has run within 60 minutes of linking an account, the initial historical import will be deferred until the next import can run.

For more information, refer to the Link Users & Accounts guide.

Automated and Manual Statement Imports

After the initial import, Bank Connect calculates each account's statement import date range using the following logic:

  • If Import From is populated, Bank Connect uses that date as the start of the next import.
  • Otherwise, Bank Connect calculates the start date using Latest Trxn Date and Import Lookback.

The lookback period allows Bank Connect to retrieve previously requested dates alongside new statement data to account for transactions added or updated after an earlier import.

Example: If the latest transaction date is September 15 and the import lookback is 5 days, the next import will request statement data beginning September 10.

The Latest Trxn Date field is updated as newer transactions are imported.

For more information on setting your company’s import schedule, Bank Connect Administrators should refer to the Manage Import Schedule guide.

Manual imports follow the same date range calculation as automated imports. They can be initiated from either of the following locations:

  • Bank Connect > Information Reporting > Match Bank Data > Update Imported Bank Data
  • Bank Connect > Information Reporting > Import Bank Statement

Reset the Statement Import Date

If statement data is missing, you can reset the import date by unlinking and re-linking the affected bank accounts. Select a historical import date that includes the missing transactions to trigger a new import.

For step-by-step instructions, refer to the Link Users & Accounts guide.

Note: Resetting the statement import date does not affect the regular automated import schedule.
